βοΈ Do you want to be able to travel carry-on only βοΈ
ππΌ IF YES – you are in luck! ππ»
Here are my go-to toiletry items to help me maximize the space in my suitcase so that I have what I need and am still able to travel carry on only!
- Sturdy 1 quart travel bag that is very sturdy and has a hook for easy hanging in the bathroom.
- Reliable travel bottles and various size bottles for toiletries that have worked well for me.
- Eagle Creek Compression Packing Cubes to help maximize my space. I love the various sizes and uses!
- Consider trying non-liquid toiletries as well.
- Shampoo and Conditioner bars –
TIP ON THE BEST WAY TO USE THE SHAMPOO & CONDITIONER BAR – run the bars over your wet hair rather than try to create lather in your hands.
I recommend The Earthling Company
They have shampoo bars, conditioner bars, shampoo + conditioner bundle option, and travel cases for the bars - Sunscreen sticks (consistency similar to stick deodorant)
Neutrogena SPF 50 Water Resistant Beach Sunscreen
Neutrogena SPF 70 Mineral Sheer Sunscreen
Neutrogena Paba Free Face and Body Sunscreen
Aveeno SPF 50 Water Resistant Mineral Sunscreen for Sensitive Skin
- Shampoo and Conditioner bars –
- Schickβs Intuition razors for shaving as it has the shaving cream surrounding the blade (Sensitive Skin: https://amzn.to/3wpmtjr and Nourishing with Cocoa Butter: https://amzn.to/3wpmtjr)
- Multi-use products – like my EltaMD day-time face tinted moisturizer with hyaluronic acid and with SPF.
π‘ My recommendations for international travel packing π‘
Travel Adapters:
- Amazon Universal Travel Adapter available for us in the US, UK, and EU and with USB-A and USB-C ports for charging your electronics.
- For hair dryers/stylers and electronic toothbrushes, which all require a higher voltage than the travel adapters for charging electronics, I use this Grounded Adapter Plug while in the EU.
Hair Stylers
- I do not pack a hair dryer for a few reasons – 1) to save space and 2) most hotels will have one that works with their plugs.
- I do pack my L’Ange 2-in-1 Blow Dryer Brush for my hair styler.
L’Ange Dryer Brush with 60 mm barrel (pink)
L’Ange Dryer Brush with 60 mm barrel (black)
L’Ange Dryer Brush with 75 mm barrel (black)
L’Ange Dryer Bruch with 75 mm barrel (pink)
I recommend this product due to the voltage differences with the overseas plugs and its multi level functions. I use the LOW SETTING when overseas, which is more like a MEDIUM/HIGH SETTING used in the US. - My personal preference is a Ground Adapter Plug to be used with my hair styler as it has the voltage conversions required.
Additional items I pack
- Most international hotels do not provide washcloths or bar soap (only liquid soap).
I pack a loofah sponge + a sturdy 1 quart travel bag (in case the loofah is still wet when time to get packed!) OR
a travel washcloth with bag (make sure to select the 24″ X 12″ to get the washcloth size). - In Europe, I prefer to have a wallet with a coin purse and RFID blocking technology since most countries have paper money for β¬5/Β£5 and over, but the rest are coins.
- Mumi Laundry Bag with hook for easy storage and to keep my clean and dirty clothes separated.
Pack over the counter (OTC) medications so that I can have some comforts from home if I get sick while traveling
- I make sure to have a small bag of over-the-counter medications (cold/flu medicine, sore throat lozenges, upset stomach, pain reliever, fever reducer) on hand.
- I have been in a pharmacy in a foreign country trying to translate the information on the box while trying to find the best option for something to treat my symptoms and help me feel better as soon as possible so I can return to my travels!
- Being in a pharmacy with Google Translate is not how I want to spend my time. I’d much rather be napping and getting better!
